Privacy & Data Protection Notice

Updated: 8 September 2026.

Current prototype status

Global Food Round is currently an informational, verification-stage prototype. Public payments and donations are not accepted through this website. The project name is not, by itself, the legal identity of a data controller, charity, nonprofit organization or fund holder.

Current project operator and privacy contact

Until a separate legal entity or fiscal sponsor formally assumes the relevant role, personal information actually received for Global Food Round is handled by the current project operator, reachable at amirworlddevelop@gmail.com. The legally applicable controller status depends on the particular processing activity and applicable law. The operator's full legal-name identification has not yet been published in this notice; the website forms will remain paused, and no new formal volunteer or candidate application intake should be solicited through the website or an external application channel until the legally responsible controller is identified and the required collection-time notice is completed under applicable law. The retained 8 September 2026 historical Idealist listing snapshot shows “I Want to Help”, “Please fill out this form”, required applicant questions and “Submit Your Form” as they appeared before the listing was hidden. The listing has since been hidden in Idealist, so new public applicant intake through that listing is operationally suspended. A person should not submit a new formal Global Food Round volunteer application through Idealist or any substitute route unless and until Global Food Round expressly states that intake has reopened with the required controller identification, collection-time privacy notice and eligibility review. Slack and general contact channels may remain available for community participation or general communication, but they are not formal application channels during this pause and must not be used as substitute application routes. The prior published snapshot and dated hidden-status evidence are retained as separate records, and any later unhide or applicant-tracking change requires renewed review so that the pause is not bypassed. Users should not be asked to submit volunteer applications, identity documents, beneficiary records, payment credentials, health information or other unnecessary sensitive personal information through those channels. Personal information already received through Idealist, email, Slack or another channel remains subject to applicable privacy obligations. A new submission received through a technically available Idealist form during the pause is not treated as an accepted application. Project personnel should not use such a submission for recruitment or selection while the pause remains in effect, and should access, retain, disclose or delete it only to the extent reasonably necessary for privacy, security, legal, records or response purposes under applicable rules. The project will not promise deletion where law, fraud prevention, dispute preservation or another lawful obligation requires retention. The privacy email remains available for questions and rights requests concerning information already held. This statement does not claim charitable, nonprofit or fiscal-sponsor status.

Website forms are paused

The Volunteer page may display proposed form fields, but its controls are disabled and the website forms are not intended to collect or transmit personal information while the pause is in effect. The retained 8 September 2026 historical Idealist snapshot shows applicant-intake controls that were visible before the listing was hidden. The listing has since been hidden in Idealist, so new public applicant intake through that listing is operationally suspended; the prior snapshot and dated hidden-status evidence are retained as separate records. New formal volunteer or candidate intake remains paused across application channels until the legally responsible controller is identified and the required collection-time notice is provided at or before collection. Slack and general contact may remain available for community or general communication only and must not be used as substitute formal application routes during the pause. Users should not be asked to send volunteer applications, identity documents, beneficiary records, payment credentials, health information or other unnecessary sensitive personal information through those channels. Personal information actually received through any channel remains subject to applicable privacy obligations.

External application and communication channels

If Global Food Round actually receives personal information from Idealist, email, Slack or another external channel, the fact that the information originated on a third-party service does not by itself remove the project's responsibilities for its own subsequent receipt, use, storage, disclosure or deletion of that information. The factual role of each service - including whether it acts as an independent controller, processor/service provider or in another capacity - must be assessed for the actual processing arrangement.

Before website collection reopens

Before personal information is collected through these website forms, the collection-time notice will identify the legally responsible controller and contact details; the purposes for which the information is requested; whether providing the information is legally required or voluntary and the consequence of not providing required information; relevant recipients or categories of recipients and purposes of disclosure; applicable retention and cross-border processing information; and access, correction, deletion or other rights to the extent required by applicable law. Any required service-provider agreements, security controls and transfer safeguards must also be addressed before activation.

Data minimization and sensitive information

Do not provide beneficiary identity documents, medical information, full payment-card or bank credentials, passwords, authentication secrets or other unnecessary sensitive information. Research and verification records should contain only information reasonably necessary for the stated research, integrity, legal, security, safeguarding or audit purpose.

Age and safeguarding information

This privacy notice does not itself authorize participation by a minor. If participation by a person under the age of majority is considered, the project must first determine the applicable age, consent, notice, safeguarding and recordkeeping requirements for that person's location and activity. Information about minors should not be collected merely because a form or external platform technically permits an application.

Browser preference storage

The prototype uses browser local storage and session storage to remember accessibility and color-display preferences and to preserve the selected colorblind display mode when navigating between relevant pages. These preference values are stored in the visitor's browser and are not used by this prototype for advertising or behavioral profiling. Clearing site storage may reset those preferences.

Technical resources and external services

The public prototype may make browser requests to third-party technical resources used by the site, including Google Fonts, map libraries/data and related hosted resources. Slack may be used as a third-party communication service for existing limited communications, but the public prototype does not present Slack as a formal application channel during the intake pause. Browser requests to external services can disclose ordinary technical request data such as IP address, browser/request information and related metadata. Listing a service here does not determine its legal role. Before analytics, advertising, payment processing, online forms or other services involving personal information are enabled or materially expanded, the applicable notices, contracts, security controls, transfer issues and service-provider roles must be reviewed.

Security, access and retention

Personal information already held from earlier project communications or applications is to be protected using access controls appropriate to the risk and limited to people who need it for the relevant purpose. Volunteer and candidate inquiries are retained while reasonably necessary for evaluation and project administration and are periodically reviewed for deletion or de-identification. Evidence connected with a completed transaction may be retained longer where reasonably required for accounting, legal, fraud-prevention, sanctions/compliance, audit or dispute-preservation purposes. Identifiable information should be deleted or de-identified when continued retention is no longer justified, subject to applicable law and legitimate preservation obligations.

Public evidence and third-party material

Public transparency should use the least identifying evidence reasonably capable of supporting a claim. Public copies should be redacted or cropped where appropriate. Possession of a screenshot, email, receipt, photograph, logo or other third-party material does not by itself establish an unrestricted right to publish it. Publication should have a supportable permission, license or other applicable legal basis. Third-party retailer and organization names are used for factual identification only; unless expressly stated, no endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation or commercial partnership is claimed.

Rights in documentary material and review requests

If you believe material displayed as documentary evidence infringes copyright, trademark, confidentiality, privacy or another right, contact amirworlddevelop@gmail.com and identify the material concerned and the basis of the request. The project will review the material and may restrict or remove it while the claim is assessed. This review process does not itself determine ownership or waive any right, defense or obligation under applicable law.

Rights and privacy contact

For privacy questions, or to request access to, correction of, deletion of or another right concerning personal information already held about you, contact amirworlddevelop@gmail.com. The availability and scope of a requested right depend on applicable law, and requests may require proportionate identity verification. Nothing in this notice limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

Future legal entity or fiscal sponsor

If a legal entity or fiscal sponsor later becomes responsible for relevant processing, this notice and the applicable collection-time notices must be updated before that processing begins. Branding, affiliation or a future funding relationship does not by itself determine who is the controller for a particular processing activity.
